Mat Sorenson Bio
Mat Sorenson is a 30-year law enforcement veteran and a 23-year SWAT veteran. He has served in multiple roles on his Department's SWAT Team, including chemical agent, less-lethal, and diversionary device instructor; firearms instructor; Team Leader; and SWAT Commander for the past 11 years.
Mat has served on the CATO board since 2020, starting as a Director at Large, then as the organization's treasurer, and now as its Executive Director. Additionally, Mat is the lead for CATO's Chemical Agent, Less-Lethal, and Diversionary Device Instructor Programs.
Mat holds a BS in Business Management from California State University, Long Beach, and an MS from the University of San Diego's LEPSL program.
