Jake Cutting

has been with the El Cajon Police Department since 2002. He is a Sergeant assigned to the Patrol Division. His past assignments include Gang Suppression, Range Master, Inspection Training Personnel, Field Training Officer, Regional Academy Training Officer, Terrorism and Wellness/Peer Support Team. Cutting has been on the El Cajon SWAT Team since 2006 and is a Senior Team Leader assigned to the Entry Element. His responsibilities include the Explosive Breaching Program and all team-related training. Prior to his career in law enforcement, Cutting was in the United States Marine Corps where he served with 4th Force Reconnaissance, 1st Force Reconnaissance, and was deployed to the Middle East. He has been a member of CATO for three years and is also a Representative for the Physical Fitness Advisory Board with NTOA.
