Sonoma County Preston Briggs

I served in the United States Marine Corps from 2007-2011. After I completed boot camp and infantry school, I was assigned to 3rd Battalion 1st Marine Regiment out of Camp Pendleton, CA. I deployed twice in support of the Global War on Terrorism. I held many assignments in the Marines, but the one I was most proud of was when I was a Squad Leader in Afghanistan. After honorably discharging from the Marine Corps as a Sergeant, I obtained my Associates Degree in Administration of Justice from the Santa Rosa Junior College. I was hired by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office in 2013 after sponsoring myself through the police academy. I was selected for the SWAT team in 2014. During my time on SWAT I have been a part of the perimeter element, a sniper and currently am a Scout. In addition to SWAT, my other collaterals to patrol include Firearms Instructor and Field Training Officer.
